Our Products

You can know the name of the bird in all the languages in the world, but know absolutely nothing about the bird. So let's look at the bird. - Richard Feynman, noted physicist and occasional safecracker and bongo player

Earth Shine Farm™ Chicken
Heirloom • Pastured • Organic • Delicious
Size Price
3 to 4 pounds $4.95 a pound

Our chickens are primarily Barred Rocks, naturally bred with other heirloom birds to bring out the most desirable features and most delicious taste. They're highly flavorful, very textured and much more firm than the chickens most folks are used to.

The birds are raised on lush Michigan's Saginaw Valley pastures following the strict French Label Rouge standards. They're raised according to OCIA Wisconsin guidelines for Organic Certification. They're pastured in a manner that exceeds the norm - we set our birds out immediately, not even waiting a week before introducing them to grass, where they remain for a minimum of 84 days. and when they're not munching out there, we feed them certified organic ingredients that we grind ourselves weekly. They're processed using the 'air chill' method that not only provides superior flavor and texture, but is also cleaner and less contamination-prone, plus better for the environment.

No chemicals, hormones, antibiotics, growth or appetite stimulants, feed additives or – more creepy still – parts from other birds ever pass through our chicken's lips (Joke. No, they don't really have them).

Oh, and did we mention that they're also really, really scrumptious.

Earth Shine Farm™ Earthly Eggs
Heirloom • Pastured • Organic • Cage Free • Delicious
Size Price
Mixed sizes, minimum total weight 30 oz. $4.00 a dozen

Take everything we told you about the birds and just imagine what kind of eggs they lay! They come in a rainbow of colors, all depending on the bird and its particular tastes, but they all share a flavor that must be experienced to be believed (one of us has a grandmother who got all misty-eyed the first time she tried our eggs. The taste took her back to her younger days as a Pennsylvania farm girl). Chefs have told us that once they bake with these gems, there's no going back to the usual fare. You won't find eggs like these in supermarkets (or even finer gourmet food shops).

P.S. – Our daughter came up with the name "Earthly Eggs" when she started the egg business at age 10. She has since moved on to bigger, more glamorous aspirations, for which we still give her our unbridled and unconditional love and support (but no royalty payments for the name).
